KAlarm lets you configure personal messages to be
displayed, commands to be executed, or emails to
be sent at scheduled times. Among its options, it
allows you to choose the message font and color,
recurrence schedule, whether to display an advance
reminder, whether to speak the message or play a
sound when it is displayed, and whether to cancel
the alarm if it can’t be triggered on time (e.g.
if you are logged out at the time). As well as
using the graphical interface to configure alarms,
you can use the command line, and there is a
DCOP/D-Bus interface for other applications.

Changes: There is a new audio alarm option, which does not display an alarm window. You can configure the duration of alarms copied to KOrganizer. The main menu organization is improved. Alarms are not overlaid on full screen windows on dual head systems. The system time zone is now recognized if its name is not in the form ‘continent/city’. Polish and Latvian translations are improved. There are various other minor improvements and bugfixes.
