ALT Linux is a set of Linux distributions that are
based on Sisyphus, an APT-enabled RPM package
repository that aims to achieve feature
completeness, usability, and security in a
sensible and manageable mixture.
SiSU (Structured information, Serialized Units) is a lightweight markup based, text structuring and publishing framework (that features granular search). With minimal markup of a plaintext file, it produces: plain-text, HTML, XHTML, XML, ODF, LaTeX, PDF, and populates an SQL database at an object/paragraph level for granular searches. Prepare documents using your text editor of choice, then use SiSU to generate the desired output formats. SiSU is controlled from the command line.
CELT (Code-Excited Lapped Transform) is an
ultra-low delay audio codec
designed for realtime transmission of high quality
speech and audio.
This is meant to close the gap between traditional
speech codecs (such
as Speex) and traditional audio codecs (such as
Vorbis).
RubySlippers is a GUI frontend to the RubyGems
package management system. It can view gemspec
files, list installed files, install gems, query
the RubyGems list, build Gems, and view
documentation. This program uses the
RubyWebDialogs GUI, and is built on the rwdtinker
framework, so more applets can be loaded and
unloaded. Context sensitive help is included.
PySignup is a simple Web application designed for
use as a public sign-up sheet. It is easy to use,
install, and configure, and can be configured to
meet any public sign-up sheet needs.
Flinks is a flashing-word Web browser intended for
speed reading.
Vuurmuur is a firewall manager for Linux that supports traffic shaping. It has powerful monitoring features for logging and live connections. It can be managed entirely through an Ncurses GUI, on the console, or through SSH.
Andy’s PHP Knowledgebase is a database-driven knowledge base management system. It features bookmark friendly URLs, easy search with browsing with article tags, article submission, and a professional and attractive interface. It is intended to be used to store, manage, and update article content for a knowledge base, but is very customizable and enables any number of creative uses.
The OVAL Interpreter is a freely available
reference implementation that demonstrates the
evaluation of OVAL definitions. Based on a set of
definitions, the interpreter collects system
information, evaluates it, and generates a
detailed OVAL results file.
JShot is a screen capture and uploader utility
which allows you to
capture a part of your screen and publish it in
one step. It lets you
upload your screenshot to an FTP server or image
hosting server, or
send it to an Instant Messaging partner. It copies
the link of your
screenshot to the clipboard, so you can publish
your shot in one step.
It is possible to extend the functionality of
JShot by installing
plugins. JShot also has drawing and image editing
functionalities.
It supports drawing shapes on the picture,
cropping, rotating, text
annotation, etc.
