Mylene is a command line MPEG audio player. It can
play plain and system embedded MPEG audio streams.
It works for Linux OSS and ALSA emulated OSS and Mac OS X. The player can be used interactively by telling it to establish a UNIX or INET server on which commands can be received. The seek-h262 MPEG decoder is
required for audio and system MPEG decoding.

LinkIt is a simple program to validate local links
within HTML documents. It tries to check that
every referenced local file (another HTML
document, an image, or a CSS entry) exists and is
accessible. The checking is performed recursively,
and all reachable documents are checked. When the
referenced local file doesn’t exist, the program
reports the filename, row, and column where the
broken reference is located.
PBZIP2 is a parallel implementation of the bzip2 block-sorting file compressor that uses pthreads and achieves near-linear speedup on SMP machines. The output of this version is fully compatible with bzip2 1.0.2 or newer (ie: anything compressed with PBZIP2 can be decompressed with bzip2).

The ability to compress, decompress, and test data using stdin and pipes is now supported. Support was also added to directly decompress files without using threads when files are small, the system only has 1 CPU, or if the .bz2 file contains 1 bzip2 stream. This version can now compress 0 byte files like bzip2. Support for pbzcat symlink to automatically specify a decompression mode to stdout, just like bzcat, is now included.
Cryptographic Package Distribution Utility is a
command line file encryption/encrypted archive
utility for Unix/Linux. It allows for secure
memory allocation, and currently uses the twofish
encryption algorithm for its main cipher. The
standard implementation will allow for different
ciphers, and AES and others will be added. The aim
is to support file transfer routines via client
server implementation as with brutal copy(bcp),
and make it a widely used encryption application
for Unix under the auspice of vi’ing the high
standard implementation of security under Unix.
Surf Canyon accelerates the search experience on
Google, Yahoo!, and Microsoft Live Search by
enabling you to find relevant information buried
in the search results. Employing advanced search
technology, the application determines what you
want and then goes as deep as page 100 of the
result set to fetch it. It also supports
Craigslist, including image previews. It is
available as an add-on extension for Firefox 2 and
Firefox 3 as well as a plug-in for Internet
Explorer (IE6 and IE7). The application learns as
you search to filter your results.
And yet some more information about Windows 7 has found its way to users. Ars Technica is present at Microsoft’s Professional Developer Conference, and they dove into the new Device Stage feature, as well as the new Libraries feature in the Windows Explorer file manager.
To load Ubuntu Intrepid Server PV DomU via serial console “pvops” kernel and ramdisk usually gets copied to Xen 3.3 Dom0. Parameters specifying root file system at image device and hvc0 console are also supposed to be included into startup profile at Dom0. At the same time all mentioned parameters may be specified via new entry into /boot/grub/menu.lst located at DomU, been placed into corresponding entry kernel line of grub configuration file at DomU. File /etc/event.d/tty1 at DomU should be also modified to work for xen console instead of vfb. All written above is not CentOS 5.2 specific, because pygrub comes to the system with Xen 3.3 port , no matter is it Debian or Gentoo
The OpenBSD team has released OpenBSD 4.4. “As in our previous releases, 4.4 provides significant improvements, including new features, in nearly all areas of the system.” Information on how you can obtain OpenBSD can be found on the OpenBSD website.
A new update of Solaris 10 has been made available today. There are a lot of ZFS enhancements and the next-gen file system is now supported as an installable root file system.
